Management of pregnant goats is important for maintaining the health of the doe and ensuring proper development of the unborn kids. Pregnant does should receive a balanced diet containing adequate energy, protein, minerals, vitamins, and clean drinking water. During the later stages of pregnancy, nutritional requirements increase significantly, so good-quality green fodder, dry fodder, and suitable concentrates should be provided according to the animal’s condition.
Pregnant does should be kept in a clean, dry, well-ventilated, and stress-free area. Rough handling, overcrowding, long-distance movement, and sudden changes in feed should be avoided. Regular observation is necessary to identify signs of illness or complications. Before kidding, the doe should be moved to a clean and comfortable kidding area where she can give birth safely and receive proper attention.
