Regular exercise is important for maintaining the physical fitness, muscle development, mobility, and general well-being of goats. Goats naturally prefer to walk, browse, climb, and explore their surroundings. Providing adequate space for movement can help reduce boredom and support normal behaviour.
Exercise areas should be safe, secure, and free from sharp objects, poisonous plants, unstable structures, and other hazards. The amount of exercise and outdoor access should be adjusted according to weather conditions, age, pregnancy, health status, and the production system. Pregnant, sick, or recently injured goats may require modified activity under appropriate supervision.
