In India, government support for the livestock sector includes programmes related to breed improvement, entrepreneurship, animal health, disease control, feed and fodder, veterinary services, research, innovation, and livestock infrastructure. The National Livestock Mission (NLM), for example, includes activities supporting entrepreneurship and breed development in the sheep and goat sector.
